Are you on the last straw when it comes to figuring out which diet works best for you? Like, you’ve tried so many. And they all leave you hangry, bloated, tired, or all three?  Maybe what’s missing is a custom diet meant to nurture and support you. The Metabolic Type Diet is custom made to you and can help you reach your health goals while nurturing your body

Individualizing Your Diet

How many times have you been told to try X diet because it’ll solve all of your problems? Atkins, paleo, keto, high-carb low fat, high-fat low carb… the list goes on and on.

Eating a balanced diet is essential for optimal health, but what works for one person may not work for another.

That’s why individualized diets are becoming increasingly popular.

Metabolic typing (MT) diets are a great way to achieve this because they are based on an individual’s metabolic type. This type of diet takes into account your body chemistry, lifestyle, and food preferences to create a personalized diet plan.

By eating an MT diet, you can reduce your risk of chronic disease and optimize your overall health. It also helps you learn how different foods affect your body so you can make informed decisions about what to eat.

With an individualized diet plan, you can get the nutrition you need while avoiding foods that may cause inflammation or other negative reactions in your body. I’m talking about you fatigue!

Curious to get these insights for yourself? The MT Diet assessment creates your individualized diet plan. Check it out here.

What is the MT diet?

A Metabolic Typing Diet is a diet based on individualized nutrition. It is designed to help you achieve optimal health, and energy levels, and reduce inflammation by looking at your metabolic type.

It provides the right balance of macronutrients (carbs, proteins, fats) to meet your individual needs.

For example, one person may find that their ideal diet is actually mostly carbs with limited fats/protein. Yet, another person may learn that they should eat high protein/fat and low carb. That’s a big difference.

The Metabolic Typing Diet may also help give insight into why certain diets don’t work for some people but create miracles for others.

For example, maybe you’re trying to go keto but feel like crap. It’s not the keto flu, and it’s not your lack of discipline or motivation. It might just be that your body thrives on a higher-carb diet and keto just won’t work for you.

Or, maybe you’re like me, and you really wanted a vegetarian diet to work out… but you find yourself hungry all the time. I was surprised to learn that my ideal diet was low-carb and higher protein and fat.

So bye-bye to that vegetarian diet. I feel satiated for much longer when I eat according to my metabolic type. And I can rest assured my evil hangry monster won’t come out to say hi.

What’s the main goal of the MT diet?

Metabolic typing takes into account your autonomic nervous system, oxidizer type, and other factors to determine your dietary needs.

It focuses on providing nourishment for your specific biochemical makeup in order to achieve optimal health. Through this approach, you can have a better understanding of your own dietary requirements and make informed decisions about what to eat.

The end goal is to make sure you have steady energy each day. This might look like no more waking up from hunger at 4AM, no more constant snacks, and no more hangry moods.

Metabolic Typing Diet Planning - Hopefully Holistic

What types of insights can I get from an MT diet assessment?

Metabolic typing is an assessment and program that helps you understand your body’s unique nutritional needs. It provides an individualized approach to nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle that can help you achieve optimal health.

An MT Diet assessment will tell you your metabolic type: fast oxidizer, slow oxidizer, mixed oxidizer, parasympathetic dominant, sympathetic dominant, or balanced.

Each of these metabolic types has its own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to nutrition.

By understanding your metabolic type, you can customize your diet and exercise routine in order to get the most out of them.

How do you get your individualized Metabolic Typing diet?

Several companies are offering customized MT diet plans. One company is MTdiet.com.

Once ordered, you will go through an extensive online assessment. Be sure to set aside at least an hour!

Also, many questions will require you to be objective. So, you may want to have a second person to help you answer tricky questions. You’ll need someone who can be honest with you about things like your proportions and fat distribution.

The results will be sent to you. If you decide to use MTdiet.com, you will also receive a ton of support documentation.

Tools & Resources You Need to Stick to An MT Diet

Eating a healthy diet is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle (duh!). With the rise of technology, there are many tools and resources available to help you stick to an MT Diet.

Just take a look at the App Store and you’ll see just how many resources are available to you for food tracking and food diaries!

Or, you can always stick with the tried-and-true physical food journal or diary.

There’s also my personal favorite – a diet check record sheet. This comprehensive, daily worksheet helps you track how your meals are actually affecting you, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. We use this at Hopefully Holistic.

So, to summarize, here are some options:

  • Myfitnesspal
  • My Macros+
  • Food journals/diaries
  • diet check record sheets

Keeping track of your daily meals and your reactions to them will help you fine-tune your diet.

Maybe you’re a low-carb, high-fat/protein person. What does “low carb” mean? Are we talking 25% of our plate or 30% of our plate?

Well, that all depends on you. You get to be your own little science experiment. You’ll get to test your hypotheses on yourself and see the results and continue your search until you’ve nailed down your perfect ratios.

BTW – the Metabolic Typing Diet doesn’t require you to count calories or macros. It’s about looking at the volume on your plate and seeing the ratios.

Supercharge Your Diet – Pair the MT Diet with Food Sensitivity Testing

So, you’ve done your MT diet assessment and you’ve received a ton of information and a list of foods that are ideal for you. You’re all set, right?

Wrong!

What the Metabolic Typing Diet doesn’t consider are your personal food sensitivities. Sure, your MT diet recommends you eat avocados, but maybe that’s one food you shouldn’t eat because it would cause inflammation within your body.

The Metabolic Typing Diet is great at giving us individualized macronutrient ratios that would help us have steady energy.

But, if you want to supercharge your diet, then knowing your food sensitivities will help you get there.

Food sensitivity testing can help identify which foods may be causing inflammation or other issues in your body. By pairing these two tests together, you can get a more comprehensive picture of what your body needs to function optimally.

Summary

We’ve all tried so many things to “eat healthily,” but what we forget is that nothing is one-size-fits-all. And, frankly, it’s a relief to know that it’s not our fault that certain diets didn’t work out.

Metabolic Typing Diets give us the ability to customize our diet to give us proper nourishment and sustained energy so that we can keep up with our busy and fun lives!

Plus, pairing the Metabolic Typing Diet with food sensitivity testing gives the ultimate view into what type of food your body would love best.

Let’s give all these crash diets a break… let’s focus on nourishing our bodies as best as we can!
